John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. I am sure many of you may have seen the new “Jesus Shoe and Satan Shoe” released by a company MSCHF will sell 666 pairs of Satan Shoes in collaboration with the rapper Lil Nas X. I am sure if you are a follower of Jesus you may be a ready to clap back (Bible Thump) immediately on social networks and create more buzz for Satan, or the artist Lil Nas X or even the shoe. Honestly, they do not deserve it. I know even the New York Post is calling it the latest “Satanic Panic” by the Christians. When we go to scripture we should remember in the Book of Ecclesiastes 1:9 says "What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun." When I read this verse, I am reminded of many artists in the past and present that have done the same using the Illuminati or Satan worship like musicians like Nikki Minaj, Rihanna, Madonna, Ozzy Osbourne, Jay Z, Marilyn Manson, Lady Gaga, and now Lil Nas X in their media or music. Guess what there is nothing new under the sun. The Devil still uses movies, music, and other forms of entertainment to pull people away from the Lord. We need to wrap our minds around the fact that Satan only wants to tempt us. He uses a variety of methods to do this and media is a major tool in the toolbox, but ultimately all he wants to do is destroy us. I think the rough part in this story is Lil Nas X has identified himself as a Satanist and has been quoted as saying "I am not gonna spend my entire career trying to cater to your children. That is your job, I literally sing about lean & adultery in old town road. u decided to let your child listen. blame yourself." Satan rules all men that are in his kingdom. Some he rules through lust. Some he rules through covetousness. Some he rules through appetite. Some he rules by their temper, but he rules them. And none will ever seek to be delivered until they get their eyes open and see that they have been taken captive. “D.L. Moody, unfortunately, Lil Nas X has been taken captive. How many of us maybe relooking at our choice of media today because of this. How many of us were lost just like Lil Nas X? John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. John 10:10 Jesus doesn’t want you merely to possess eternal life but also to possess the full experience of life. When I was saved, I found peace, joy, and love that I have never known and I want as many as possible to become followers of Jesus just as God saved me. It is easy to see this shoe and artist video from Lil Nas X is worshipping Satan even on the website they twist and turn scripture to fit the need and justify the sin. What if we prayed for Lil Nas X? He needs Jesus just like we did. Honestly, some of us may have listened to some of that music from that list of artists from above before following Jesus. We have an awesome opportunity to have an open dialogue with our youth and young adults in our communities that may have an opinion about the shoe or the artist with a wiliness to talk. How about doing what you were commanded to do and share the gospel? It is easy to be upset about it, but Jesus has defeated the devil already. Let us try to share Jesus, remember Jesus came that they may have life and have it abundantly. Jesus died on the cross for all of our sins, He defeated death and was resurrected and will return. So, can Jesus save a Satanist? Yes. We as followers of Christ need to engage the culture instead of the culture engaging the church. Be bold and share Christ "face to face" in person not just on social networks and live for the Lord today. God Bless Pastor Michael

I would like to thank you for joining us
for service. Last week I shared something I believe the Lord specifically placed on my heart for the church here in Devine, Texas. Our mission statement is “Son, Salt & Light. I spoke last week on being the “Salt and the Light”. This week I will speak about Growing in our relationship the “Son” Jesus. My Senior Pastor Joe Marquez shared this wonderful Growth Acronym about ten years ago while I was attending and serving at Grace Calvary Chapel in San Antonio and I just thought it was brilliant it has stuck with me still today. It is so important that we are not seeking to grow in religion but in a relationship with Jesus. This acronym is great guide to help with that. “Growth in your relationship with Christ.” G- Go to the Lord in Prayer daily. R- Read or Listen to your Bible daily. O-Obedience & Application. W- Witness to others T- Trust in God with every detail in your life. H- Holy Spirit – Holy Spirit should lead & guide your life. |
